the thaw begins

These past days with their warmer temperatures and sunnier skies have given me a serious case of spring fever. I want to be outdoors as much as possible and soak in the fresh air. Spring has always been a symbol of new beginnings, new hope. As the world around me thaws, I find my heart warming too. I'm a little more likely to notice the good I've been missing. It's not that these things haven't been there all along, just that I've been too blinded by the hard stuff to see them. But today as the sun shines through my open windows, I am taking notice. So here, in no particular order, are some small blessings that I've been missing out on. Maybe some of them are the same for you and you just need someone to point them out.

  • a naughty puppy who makes me laugh
  • an open sunroof and a breeze through my hair
  • dark chocolate
  • holding hands with someone I love
  • laughing with someone I love
  • just being in love
  • new babies and all their perfect possibilities
  • a faithful dog with her head on my knee
  • 90's music
  • bread
  • car dancing
  • new paint and blank canvas
  • knowing God is faithful and holds me in the palm of his hand
